thanks to Wim de Knegt for taking some making of pictures of the wetplate workshop im hamburg this april. it was again a lot of fun with really interesting people - a lot of good plates turned out at this course, congratulations!

polaroid ftw!

maybe it's becasuse of the look, the frame, the colour, the imperfection, the aesthetics or maybe it is because i just love instant pictures - i guess it is all together why i like polaroids so much. thanks to peter bauer who took this silver shade polaroid at my wetplate workshop in hamburg.

Phototriennale Hamburg - exhibition at gallery Farbwerke

A wonderful wetplate exhibition took place at Phototriennale Hamburg in Galerie Farbwerke M6 from 1-13 April 2011. I am really proud that this exhibition is together with my former workshop participants Esther Haase, Oliver Rolf, J.Konrad Schmidt and Hendrik Faure. It is quite nice that my work attracts so much interest to people and my knowledge i teach in workshops develops in a really good way. Fantastic we could do this exhibition together.

meta.morph / a collaborative project for london fashion week

this project was launched as part of london fashion week at úna burke’s vauxhall fashion scout presentation at the freemasons hall. it was a synthesized haunting experience, comprising of wet plate images by stefan sappert, installations from úna’s autumn-winter 2011 collection and experimental film by andreas waldschütz & adia trischler.

exhibition 'collodion collective' in london

in honor of frederick scott archer (1813–1857), the inventor of the wet plate collodion photographic process, a new commemorative plaque will be unveiled on his grave on saturday, may 1, 2010. the collodion collective and world wet plate day, which i am both part of, organized and is sponsoring this event. there will be a live wet plate collodion demonstration, and an exhibition of wet plate collodion work from artists throughout the world at the dissenters' gallery in london from april 24th to may 8th 2010.
